E! NEWS ASIA: DION LEE AT SINGAPORE FASHION WEEK 2015

On the second day of Singapore Fashion Week 2015, we had the privilege of interviewing  Dion Lee, one of the most awarded and promising designers from Australia. He has been booming in recent times and it's no wonder because he is one of fashion's leading engineers.

Once again, the location of the interview was backstage right before he showed. We waited patiently for him to take some time for our interview and to be honest, he looked quite stressed and focused setting up clothes for his models (couldn't blame him!). However, once we snatched him for 10 minutes for the interview, he seemed much more relaxed and quite a friendly guy to talk to. Ended the night watching his spectacular show! A sea of emeralds and jewel-like dresses and to die for outerwear cascaded the catwalk....casual luxe at it's best!

Furthermore, during the second day of fashion week, Elizabeth and I decided to bring out our twin dynamic and have matching outfits! Not identical in the least, but cohesive nonetheless. We opted to wear pieces from contemporary Indonesian Designer, Stella Rissa's volume 01/2015 collection. Elizabeth in the jumpsuit while I myself in a long fitted dress. Her pieces exude a confident, straight to business type of woman, both sexy and demure at the same time, which we love.

ESCAPE AT LLOYD'S INN

We just came back from a whirlwind several days in Singapore for Singapore Fashion Week, and we could not have been more happier with the place we called home for those number of days.

We had two main things in mind when searching for a place to stay: (1) great central location (near the fashion week venue) & (2) it had to be photogenic/Instagramable (how else would we document our OOTD's?). Lloyd's Inn fits our criteria like a custom made cashmere glove! It's located on Lloyd Road, just two blocks away from Orchard Road and we loved the interior design of Lloyd's Inn with it's minimalist and contemporary approach making it a piece of cake to photograph.

Less is so much more at Lloyd's. With 34 rooms in total, we appreciated the fact that each room was designed just a bit differently (8 different ways to be exact), but all share the same aesthetic, which values the beauty of nature, light, space, comfort, and tranquility. Throughout our stay, we felt like we stepped into a green oasis, a safe abode away from the busy buzz of the city. In terms of our own room, we stayed in the premium Reading Room. It was the perfect size for two with an amazing view of lush greenery and we absolutely adored the big bay windows that showered in stunning natural light during the day.

Other perks: Lloyd's provide their guests with a 24/7 complimentary outdoor pantry/cafe area equipped with a coffee machine (drinks include cappuccino, teh tarik, and mocha) as well as a microwave to heat any frozen foods one might have stowed away, or to enjoy last night's leftover dinner. We highly enjoyed having our coffee in the morning or having a cup of teh tarik in the afternoon.

Another huge perk is the amazing staff! The moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm and friendly faces who no doubt were ready to help us if we ever needed anything throughout our stay. It was a joy coming back to the hotel from a long day and seeing their smiling faces greeting us from the reception. Shout out to Joan, Kelvin, Fara, Shahirah, Louis, Lisa, Hafidz, and Eric who made our stay that much more special.
