Our second day of New York Fashion week was jam-packed with an exciting TRESemme workshop, E! shooting and the 3.1 Phillip Lim SS15 show! It was, in short, a deeply astonishing and fashionable roller coaster string of events.
The TRESemme workshop was an event held at the Viceroy Hotel where we were exposed to all the new TRESemme products and interacted directly with the TRESemme hairstylists. Furthermore, it was also a chance for us to see New York City from an unbelievable perspective. Check out the view!
I wore a dress from Indonesian brand Alexa-Alexa. This dress had a particularly interesting vocal point and print - human DNA cells! People constantly came up to me and asked if they were either tennis balls or lemons, ha! I must say this was a visually complex piece to say the least. I don't usually opt for a lot of print, but when I do, I go big or go home!
I accessorized with a DKNY clutch and my new favorite silver heels from Dorothy Perkins. Because they pretty much go with everything, you'll be seeing me wear these A LOT.
This year TRESemme decided to team up with the E! Channel, which I will be forever grateful for because honestly, it has always been a dream of mine to work with them! Having come from a broadcasting communications background, it was surreal to work with the leading pop culture channel of my generation. We shot all over the city with E! , both on and off the grounds of Lincoln Center - Central Park, Brooklyn, Times Square, Governor's Island, Soho, Uptown - just to name a few.
Once we were inside the tents of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, we hung out at the TRESemme VIP Bar and even got to see a live E! shooting that featured Kimora Lee Simmons, supermodel Coco Rocha and style icon Alexa Chung. I'm not gonna lie, my heart started beating ferociously when Kimora appeared. Talk about stage presence! Seeing Coco, one of the most celebrated supermodels in the entire business, was also one of those pinch me moments.
Next up was the 3.1 Phillip Lim show. Our first show of the week! The show was held at this very large, very spacious warehouse at Clarkson Square. The venue was decked out in white, lit up by a soft coral light. Naturally, it was a full house.
Lim's SS15 collection was uncomplicated, opulent baroque with a touch of crazed electrified hair. With a Japanese influence that ran throughout the collection, the clothes spoke softly, yet demanded attention to detail. One of my favorites were the sheer navy ankle length trousers. The leather tops, jackets and bags were also a delight. At the end of the show, I got to meet and take a picture with the ever so lovely Jamie Chung. She's known for her role in The Hangover Part II and Once Upon a Time. Jamie Chung is NICE, ya'll. Sweet enough to compliment what I was wearing and asked about what camera I was using! Definitely one of the highlights of that day. :)
